2A12 aluminum rod is a kind of high-strength hard aluminum which can be heat-treated and strengthened. It has moderate plasticity and pot weldability and it has a tendency to form intergranular cracks when using gas welding and argon arc welding in annealing, quenching and hot state. The alloy is quenched. After quenching and cold-working hardening, its machinability is good, but it is not good in the annealed state.
